Capillaroscopy is a technique used to study microcirculation. This application defines the physiological parameters observed through capillaroscopy of the nail bed and provides images that best illustrate each parameter. The methodology that may be used for the quantitative and semiquantitative analysis of capillaroscopic abnormalities is also specified. In addition, the characteristics of multiple capillaroscopic patterns are described and presented with the corresponding images.
This application will prove to be useful for specialists from various medical disciplines
who can use it as a reference tool or a means to educate themselves on the theoretical/practical study of this technique. All of the content featured in the application has been agreed upon by the capillaroscopy specialists who comprise the Working Group for the Study of Capillaroscopy (el Grupo de Trabajo para el Estudio de la Capilaroscopia, GREC), within the scleroderma guidelines followed by the Spanish Society of Internal Medicine.
